About Me
I'm PoLLi (technically) and this is my story

Born on the world’s Nature Island Dominica ( 10 out of 10 recommend you visit, beautiful ! click here ) located in the Caribbean on May 23rd, 1992, I stayed in a countryside village called Coulibistri. I was given the Imran after a famous Pakistani cricketer turned Prime Minister Imran Khan. You would think after being named after a cricketer I would like the sport, not really, it’s ok but just not for me.
When I was 4 years old sadly my mom passed away leaving my sibling and me with various family members at the time I was too young to understand what happen until later on as I got older.
At 6 years old, I moved to another village (Jimmit) with my aunt and God bless her soul cause I wasn’t the best child to raise still to this day haha! See I was very troublesome and I loved going out, roaming the street like I had no home she always used to worry about me when I did. I would be out all day if u leave me be, I also love fishing that’s something I can stay doing forever.
After graduating from high school with 5 CXC ( Caribbean Examination Council ) subjects and obtaining my legendary nickname PoLLi which was given to me by some of my close friends at the name cause of my last name Paul. I didn’t like it at first but I ended up loving it so much I prefer to be called it rather than my birth-given name. Now off to college, I’m faced with the question of what I want to do in college. or to say what I want to do with my life? To be honest, I always wanted to be a pilot but aviation school was too expensive so I went with my second option which was electronics/electricals. After a few years of college now with a degree in Electronics and Telecommunication Technology time to go look for a job.
Stayed awhile looking for a job then I got my first proper job working as an electrical technician at Dominica Brewery And Beverages a beer factory that produces Kabuli beer. I enjoyed working at that factory and learned a lot about electricals, three-phase current, bumping, brewing and so much more.
Things turned for the worst on September 16th, 2017, when my beautiful island was hit by a devastating Category 5 hurricane called Hurricane Marie. thousands lost their homes and livelihood, was just tragic. The factory which I came to love was destroyed and I was out of a job just like that. Lucky I found a new job working with the island’s electricity provider DOMLEC ( Dominica Electricity Services Ltd )
while working at DOMLEC I was placed to help repair damaged high voltage transform from the hurricane that was new for me at the moment but I quickie learn and even ended up liking it. it was not just repairing I learned during my time here also how to perform various safety and quality tests both on the field and in the workshop, commission, and decommission of the transformers as well. After about a year there was a LineMan training program that I did at the company where there was more skill and knowledge acquired, involving the generating and distribution of electricity at the end I was given a certificate of accomplishment. Soon after I was given a new position and job where I was involved in the retrofitting of high-voltage switch gear and the commissioning of a new high-voltage generator.
A few months pass after the completion of the commissioning of the new generator, the covid 19 pandemic hit Dominica in 2020 and as a result, I was let go from my job on May 2020. This was the second time I lost my job due to some natural event and I just moved out of my aunt’s house, on my own enjoying freedom and being independent. 6 months passed and I could no longer pay my rent so I was forced to move back in with my aunt sadly.
months passed after moving back with my aunt and I started working with an ex-coworker from the beer factory I mentioned earlier on as an electrician. working with him is all good but after a few years of saving back up my money, i just feel like I should look to have my own business. A business that won’t be affected by such disasters that I faced in my life .So I decided to start this blog not just as my business and a way to make money but to also help you all by providing information and recommendations of what I believe is the best for you.
THANK YOU,
